| | ARMS AND ammunitions belonging to the Indian Army were recovered from the bed of the river Pahua in Jhansi district. A bag containing the same was spotted by some kids on Thursday while swimming in the river near Jhansi-Shivpuri road. SSP, Jhansi told HT that the local police recovered the arms after children informed them about the bag. The SSP further said that after examining the recovered objects on Friday, army officials confirmed these they were discarded ones. He said the objects included one rocket launcher, 55 used cartridges of self-loading rifle (SLR), remains of rocket and stands used to install SLR. Some of the unidentified objects were being still examined by army officials, who would submit their report by Tuesday, after which local police would initiate further investigation, the SSP added. He said the police were probing as to how discarded arms were dumped in a river near a civilian area. |
