| | STATE GOVERNMENT has finalised a plan to establish Bal Bhawans at six divisional headquarters in the State. The proposed Bal Bhawans would be established on the line of Bhopal based Jawahar Bal Bhawan at six divisional headquarters including Gwalior, Jabalpur, Indore, Ujjain, Sagar and Rewa. For this purpose an amount of Rs 2.85 crore has been earmarked in the current financial year’s budget.After setting up of divisional level Bal Bhawans, children from districts other than Bhopal would benefit from the activities carried out in the proposed Bal Bhawans. The proposed Bal Bhawans would help in physical and mental development of children along with honing of their talent. The Bhopal based Jawahar Bal Bhawan being run by the Women and Child Development Department is contributing significantly towards producing useful human resources by all round development of children of all sections of society. The Jawahar Bal Bhawan is at present conducting activities such as drawing, sculpture, handicrafts, music, dance, drama, sewing, sports and entertainment, home science, aero-modeling, computer, science and library for children. During the last financial year 2006-07, 1300 children were benefited from the activities being run regularly at the Jawahar Bal Bhawan. Apart from this, another 3000 children were also benefited through various workshops organised during the period mentioned in the report.
