Govt to engage guest teachers

GUEST TEACHERS will be engaged for teaching  in Tribal Welfare Department-run schools where posts of teachers are vacant.

According to an official press release, there would be two categories of teachers that are immediate and temporary.

Honorarium to them would be paid through Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs). For assessment of requirement of guest teachers institution-wise information would be prepared as per sanctioned posts of teaching cadre and contract school teacher in high and higher secondary schools in each district.

The lecturers and contract schoolteachers would be placed in category-1 and the teachers and contract schoolteachers would be placed in category-2 school wise and subject group wise.

The guest teacher system would be applicable for both the categories. Advertisements would be published for high and higher secondary schools block wise as per the vacancies. The guest teachers category-1 would be paid an honorarium of Rs 50 per period and the category-2 would be paid Rs 40 per period.

The honorarium would be paid for maximum four periods in a day. Thus, the maximum limit for payment would be Rs 4000 every month for category-1 and Rs 3200 for category-2 guest teachers. There would be a maximum teaching days limit of 20 days for them in a month.
