It is very sad that the communist cadres are murdering democracy so brazenly in rural Bengal. What is the use of land reforms, etc if the people live in an atmosphere of constant fear? The administration is a puppet in the hands of totalitarian communist cadres.

Secular State

With reference to Sonia, Secularism & India’s Christians (Sunday Sentiments, March 18), it can not only be potentially dangerous but absolutely wrong to tell the Christians of Himachal Pradesh that they had been indulging in illegal conversion activities and the Himachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, 2007 targets them by branding them with guilt.
