The Buddhadeb government is provoking the farmers. The communists are known to be perverse to democratic functioning, so sending huge possé of policemen to silence the farmers is not really surprising. It is a matter of regret that people’s elected members in the Lok Sabha behave indecently. There should be some code of conduct for parliamentarians. Let a standing committee be formed to watch the behaviour of elected members and take punitive action for misbehaviour. Mahesh Kumar via e-mail II
