Bill Wyman turns photography hobby into coffee table book

Former Rolling Stones bass guitarist Bill Wyman will present the best of his 40 year stint in still photography, in a new coffee table book.

Wyman, who earlier showcased 22,000 plus snaps, decided to revert to his collection of his friends and landscapes, while preparing for his exhibition in San Francisco in 2006.

The 70-year-old added that it is possible to explore the finest moments, once a person starts taking snaps.

"Once you get into it, you realise there's some real gems in there,’ Contactmusic quoted Wyman, as saying.

Wyman has been working with his pal, renowned photographer Terry O’Neill for editing the pictures, and fears that fans would feel disappointed for they will not find much on Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.

The English bassist added that every time he would want to take a still, Jagger and Richards would object and say that he has taken enough of photos, and that it is his band mates for not being in ease.

"They'd say, 'No Bill, don't keep taking photos,' while the other two always let me, so I've got more of them. It's Mick and Keith's own fault for being awkward,” he added.

Wyman also said that Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts is really camera-friendly, and that everything he donned made him look good.

"Charlie is so photogenic that whatever he puts on looks great - wigs, funny hats... they turn out to be really good pictures,” he added.

Wyman added that late blues great John Lee Hooker, whom he captured in a smoky club in Suffolk, England in 1969, looked so divine in the still

"He just sat on a stool and looked like a god," Wyman said.
