The Vishwa Hindu Parishad president Ashok Singhal on Tuesday ruled out possibility of acceptance any formula about Ayodhya temple by Dwarika seer Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand.

Talking to newsmen in Lucknow, Singhal said saints were highly agitated over the “suspicious” move of Dwarika seer for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. In this connection saints would be meeting in Ayodhya on November 19 and 20 to further chalk out plan. Swami Swaroopanand is scheduled to visit Ayodhya from November 22 to 30 for the “Parikrama”. Singhal said he had no information that BJP leader LK Advani would accompany Dwarika seer to Ayodhya.

He said Swaroopanand’s links with Congress were well known and now efforts were on to devise Congress plan for Ramjanma Bhoomi temple. But high level committee of VHP sants and central margdarshak mandal had already rejected to join any discussion with Muslims. Reiterating Sadhus’ resolve to construct temple from sanctum sanctorum, Singhal said no construction of mosque would be allowed within “cultural limit of Ayodhya”, which is nearly 125 km periphery of the town. He said the VHP would also not allow construction of “Babri mosque” anywhere in the country. He said only Ramjanma Bhoomi trust would construct the temple. Any attempt by Sawaroopanand-sponsored Ramalaya trust for the construction would be thwarted.

Accusing Swaroopanand of creating rift among VHP saints on temple issue, Singhal said Ayodhya would give him befitting reply. He said politicians would not be allowed to take up the issue. He said VHP was not opposed to negotiated settlement but past experience indicated that there was now no room for such exercise.

Claiming that excavation of the site had proved beyond doubt that there was Ram temple before construction of Babri mosque, Singhal said Swaroopananad had once again been involved to further complicate the issue. He said even though sants would not stop his “Parikrama” the atmosphere was not proper for his visit to the temple town. He said Niritya Gopal Das of temple trust had already apprised Swaroopanand of prevailing hostile situation in Ayodhya. He said countrywide awareness drive would be launched in December on the issue.
